Pioneers of the
Wild Balkans
It started with a single wooden boat in 2010
Long before Komani Lake was on every traveler's bucket list, Mario Molla was navigating these waters as a local fisherman and guide. Born and raised in the surrounding mountains, he saw the untapped beauty of the fjords and the need for a sustainable way to share them with the world.
Most operators view Komani as a transit point. We view it as a living ecosystem. In 2010, we launched Komani Lake Tours with one goal: to protect the environment while providing authentic, local-led experiences that contribute directly to our mountain communities.
The Molla family has lived by these waters for generations. Our deep connection to the land is celebrated through our local traditions and Christian heritage, with community gatherings almost every month.
Conservation
We lead seasonal lake cleanup projects and promote 'zero-trace' tourism.
